Logan's emotional support dog and constant companion of nearly 11 years passed away on July 31, 2022.

Teggy, a Labrador/Catahoula mix, was always on the hunt for snacks and cuddles from humans. She often went with Logan to work at an automotive parts store as part of being Logan's ESA. Once Logan started working from home, Teggy was still there while Logan answered customer support phone calls.

Teggy was adopted in October 2011 when she was six months old and she had an exuberantly friendly personality. Logan often tells the humorous story of the time they were on a walk together and ran into a coyote. Both of them almost felt like befriending the coyote.

Earlier this year, Logan was out of work on unpaid leave for six weeks. During the same time, a lump started to grow on Teggy's side. The mass started out walnut-sized and grew to be closer to melon-sized, causing swelling and fluid build-up that impacted her mobility and caused her to be more tired.

An earlier surgery to remove a similar mass on her mouth cost $1,600.

Teggy's veterinarian said the lump was not a lipoma, but more testing would be needed to determine whether or not the lump had cancer deeper inside that could possibly be blocking a lymph node. Teggy's age made it unlikely that she would survive a more invasive surgery.

At the end of July, it was time. Teggy started to feel worse.

Euthanasia cost $155, and cremation brought the final bill to $455.
