S.O.S fundraising foundation raises monies for elderly low income senior to aid in their home safety requirements, such as roof repairs and replacements, hurricane windows and doors. In turn, lowering co-op and residential insurance costs that are eating away at low income budgets, leaving seniors in unsafe environments just to pay the outrageous insurance prices.

SOS is working to help the cause before the problem becomes seniors on the streets, adding exponentially to the homeless population .

#1 Our first fundraising project at S.O.S., is to immediately acquire the funding for a much needed roof replacement on the Savoy Apt Residential Cooperative ,as well as an update to impact windows and doors.

This Elderly living community was hit hard by the storm on July 12th of this year, and with no help from the insurance company and left hanging for 3 months before being declined that help, the damage continues to grow and so does the dangers. This is a small residential cooperative houses 16 individuals/couples in a non investment property.

The full project estimates out at 180-220,000 but with 3/4 of the resident owners living on Social Security and fixed income and at least half of those on LOW oncome , the projected assessment's are not within the realm of their reality.

Our objective is to raise the roof funding ASAP as we work towards the rest for the updates.
