Help us bring back our Community Classroom!

In January we reopened our doors in a new space after the fire in 2025…the last couple of months have been a whirlwind of support, shoppers,and our amazing staff and volunteers working incredibly hard to bring you affordable access to textile art supplies and quality garments at great prices.

Nearly every day someone asks our staff when we are bringing back workshops…well great news! We have officially signed the lease for an additional space in our existing building. When the unit behind our sorting area became available we knew we had to move on it. We had hoped to spend 2026 solely focusing on our retail operations, but in regular Ragfinery fashion we have found ourselves in an opportunity to bring people what they have been asking for.

The space is nearly bare and while our retail operations have been quite successful so far this year, we are still recovering from the huge financial loss post fire. This fundraiser will help us purchase all fixtures needed to bring our workshop back to life. It will allow us to offer workshops, kids camps, open Community Classroom times (with free of cost notions, space and machine use) and perhaps most importantly the ability for us to reinvigorate our job skills training program and re-expand our textile waste diversion efforts.

We love our store, but it’s never been all we do. Reuse Works began as a jobs from waste model alllllll the way back in 2004. We are dedicated to being an ethical, supportive employer, a third space, and a creative reuse center that uses every opportunity possible to educate our community about mending, upcycling and the importance of minimizing textile waste.
