Connecting on the Rail Trail is a free and recurring community event series with programming centered on inclusive and accessible outdoor education and recreation located along the Ashuwillticook Bike Trail in Berkshire County for historically and strategically underrepresented outdoorists in the local community.

This program has come together through an intentional and collaborative partnership between Finca Luna Búho and Mixed Faces Wild Spaces.

In our pilot year, Connecting on the Rail Trail hosted 5 events, where each was an intentional affinity space for a particular identity group that has been historically and strategically underrepresented in the outdoors.

This Next Year:

We are raising funds to continue this incredible program, to continue offering and expand on what we have been able to create collectively. The areas we are looking to grow are:

Short term and achievable goals for 2025 here
- Expanding to provide bikes, helmets, and other riding devices for participants to keep as their own, so they can continue to foster deep connections with the outdoors outside of these events
- Continue offering Spanish/English language justice services
Long term and stretch goals here
- Expanding to be able to provide compensation to participants, which would support in reducing the barriers of lost time, labor, or money expended to attend our event(s).
- Expanding to provide language accessibility all languages spoken in the Berkshires, which would allow our events and materials to be more accessible to all
