We, the Radical Adventure Riders (RAR) from chapters across the U.S., are envisioning our next steps towards gender inclusivity and racial equity in cycling and the outdoors.

Our insistence and volunteership has led us to conceive of the RAR Northeast Autumn Retreat, a convening for people from various backgrounds and identities to gather for bold momentum in the radical direction. This retreat will be held on September 13 - 16, 2024 in Topsham, VT.

Getting on bikes together in our respective cities is one aspect, but finding joy in the integration of our various chapters, continuing to initiate this yearly dialogue is a whole different level working in a delightful tandem with our mission.

Over the past few years, getting outside is a hard task for many and with our work we hope to welcome those at any level to participate. We see this Retreat as an invitation and a charge for generative inspiration outdoors. As RAR as been active for 7 years, we have learned that moving boldly is often risky at first; however, with proper planning, care, conviction, flexibility, and radical awareness of our differences, working inside of community becomes our most innovative and rewarding move.

We have been working on strategically planning and living in the space to dream up the first iteration of the RAR summit, aiming to be deeply transformative, ideating for radical change. Which is required of all of us, especially today.

In learning through volunteering for RAR, it’s confirmed that boldness loves company. Therefore, we ask you to join us in our bold pursuits.
