I've been involved in ROCK for the last five years, and joined their Board in January 2022. ROCK is amazing for many reasons, but what impresses me most is their focus on supporting a single neighborhood in San Francisco, the Vis Valley community, where they're able to go really deep and work through the schools in Vis Valley to help make it easier for students to succeed. They help with everything from weekend activities to get kids outside and active (from athletics on Saturdays to amazing field trips), to mental health services, to tutoring - whatever is needed.
