2024 Recruitment Clinic Schedule

Friday , October 11th

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Optional Parent Reception

A welcoming evening for parents to meet the coaching staff, current cheerleaders, and other families. This informal gathering provides an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the program in a relaxed setting. Light refreshments will be served.

Saturday, October 12th

8:00 am - 8:30 am | Registration/Meet & Greet (Meet at XULA Fitness Center)

Upon arrival, participants and their parents will check in and receive their clinic materials. This is a great time to meet the XULA cheerleading team, make new friends, and start the day on a positive note.

9:00 am - 10:15 am | Campus Tours "On Saturday We Serve"

Parents and participants will embark on a guided tour of the XULA campus. You'll experience the vibrant campus life and see key facilities. The tour will emphasize XULA’s commitment to service, highlighting how our athletes give back to the community.

10:15 am - 10:35 am | Dynamic Warm-Up (Participants)

Participants will head to the Convocation Center to engage in a dynamic warm-up led by XULA coaches. This session is designed to prepare athletes for the physical demands of the day, focusing on flexibility, strength, and coordination.

10:15 am - 11:00 am | Parent Meeting with Admissions & Financial Aid

While participants are warming up, parents will meet with representatives from the Admissions and Financial Aid offices. This session will cover the application process, scholarships, and financial planning for college.

10:30 am - 11:30 am | Standing Tumbling 11th & 12th Graders + Transfers

Participants in grades 11-12 will practice the tumbling techniques that have made XULA cheerleaders standout performers on the national stage. Emphasis will be placed on power, speed, and form.

| Stunts ( 8^th grade – 10^th Grade )

Participants in grades 8-10 and transfer students will engage in an advanced stunting session. This clinic will focus on intermediate and advanced level stunts.

11:00 am - 11:30 am | Meet Our Administrators ( Parents)

Parents will have the opportunity to meet the Athletic Directors and the Vice President of Student Affairs. This session will provide insight into why they choose to invest in XULA Cheer and how the team contributes to the vibrant culture on campus.

11:30 am - 12:00 pm | What it Means to be a Student-Athlete at XULA

A presentation for all participants discussing the expectations and rewards of being a student-athlete at Xavier University. This session will include insights from current athletes and coaches about balancing academics and athletics.

12:00 pm - 12:15 pm | Post-Clinic Evaluation & Interview Sign-Ups

After the morning sessions, participants will have the opportunity to sign up for individual evaluations and interviews with the coaching staff. This is a chance to receive personalized feedback and discuss future opportunities.

12:15 pm - 1:30 pm | Brunch

Enjoy a traditional New Orleans brunch at XULA's on-campus dining facility. This is an opportunity to experience the local culture while connecting with current cheerleaders in a relaxed environment.

1:30 pm - 1:50 pm | Individual Warm-Up Time

Athletes will have a brief period to prepare themselves for the afternoon sessions. This is a time to stretch, review techniques, and mentally prepare for the next round of activities.

1:45 pm - 3:15 pm | Stunts for 11th & 12th Graders + Transfers

Participants in grades 11-12 and transfer students will engage in an advanced stunting session. This clinic will focus on more complex stunts, building on the fundamentals covered earlier.

1:45 pm - 3:15 pm | Running Tumbling for 8th-10th Graders

Participants in grades 8-10 will practice the running tumbling techniques that have made XULA cheerleaders standout performers on the national stage. Emphasis will be placed on power, speed, and form.

1:00 pm - 1:50 pm | Future XULA Cheer Parents: "Helping Your Athletes Transition to College"

A special session for parents, focusing on how to support their children through the transition to college life. Topics will include academic support, time management, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

3:30 pm - 5:30 pm | Running Tumbling for 11th & 12th Graders

Participants in grades 11-12 will work on the running tumbling techniques that have contributed to XULA’s reputation for having some of the best tumblers in the nation. This session is designed to challenge athletes and help them reach their full potential.

3:30 pm - 5:00 pm | Standing Tumbling for 8th-10th Graders

Participants in grades 8-10 will focus on mastering the standing tumbling techniques that have elevated XULA cheerleaders to elite status. Coaches will provide targeted feedback to help each athlete progress.

5:00 pm - 5:30 pm | Debrief with 8th-10th Graders

A wrap-up session for participants in grades 8-10, where they can reflect on what they learned, ask questions, and receive final tips from the coaches.

5:30 pm - 6:00 pm | Debrief with 11th-12th Graders + Transfers

Participants in grades 11-12 and transfer students will have their own debrief session, focusing on their experiences throughout the day, with personalized feedback from the coaching staff.

Sunday ,October 13th

8:00 am - 11:30 am | Individual Meetings and Offer Letters

Participants will have individual meetings with the coaching staff to receive personalized feedback and discuss potential offers. This is an opportunity to address any final questions and outline next steps.

11:00 am - 12:30 pm | Attend Mass with Our Team (Optional)

An optional opportunity for participants and their families to attend Mass with the XULA cheerleading team. This is a chance to experience a part of the XULA community and reflect on the weekend’s events.
