With every donation given, every event attended, and every event booked, you are directly impacting the children in central Alabama! At our farm, we believe each child and person is fearfully and wonderfully made, with a unique purpose and special gifts.

Our why: Cahaba Critters was born after one of our co-founders received a second chance at life following a life-saving double organ transplant. That experience turned deep gratitude into purpose, and passion into action: creating a place where others can experience care, hope, and connection. With your support, we can continue providing a safe, hands-on space where children learn about farm animals and agriculture while having fun.

Why this Matters: Did you know that as of 2024, there were approximately 6,000 children in the Alabama foster care system? Our farm helps fill a critical gap by creating a safe, joyful place where children in foster care can simply be kids. With community partners, we build positive memories through matching events and birthday celebrations. We help ensure that children navigating trauma and transition are met with care and community support that can strengthen their sense of self and future outcomes.

For children with special needs, the need for understanding and accessible spaces is even greater. Our farm offers a calm, welcoming environment where they can move at their own pace and feel fully included.

What Your Money Goes Toward: The animals provide what we call “critter magic"- helping ease nervous systems, bring calm, and offer a quiet sense of understanding and connection. All money donated and events attended helps not only maintain the farm and care for the animals but provides free time here for children and families who need it most.
