is a partnership professional training series hosted by Grant Consulting & Coaching & Umbrella ND

A 3-part professional training series combining research with real-world application (9 CE credits available)

Led by:

Dr. Kelli Grant (sociologist, Safe and Sound Protocol practitioner)
AJ Locashio (educator, interpersonal communications strategist)

What You'll Learn:

Workshop 1: Foundation + Protection Shift from pathology to neurodiversity frameworks. Recognize dysregulation in clients, team members, students—and yourself. Create protective environments through sensory and systemic modifications.

BONUS: This training is excellent for parents and partners, too!

Workshop 2: Intervention Distinguish capacity from ability in real-time. Practice intervention scenarios for communication breakdowns, executive function support, and dysregulation. Master crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques that preserve autonomy.

Workshop 3: Connection + Integration Facilitate genuine belonging and authentic connection. Build a tailored action plan for your role and setting. Transform resistance into opportunities for change. Sustain the work without burnout.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! You will also have access to a private community Discord space for discussing real-world applications with other practitioners facing similar challenges and celebrating shared successes. This ongoing support builds sustainability into your practice and your life. Having a community of support is a win for everyone!

"Respond over react" is a core concept of AJ's found in Umbrella ND's Self-Advocacy Survival Guide (SASG). At its heart, it recognizes that when our nervous system feels unsafe or overwhelmed, we tend to react—often in ways that don't reflect our values or serve the people we're trying to support or work alongside. Responding, by contrast, comes from a regulated nervous system and allows for thoughtful, intentional action.

This concept runs throughout the full series as a shared thread between AJ's SASG work and Dr. Grant's PIC Method. Both frameworks are grounded in the understanding that nervous system regulation isn't a "nice to have"—it's the foundation for meaningful connection and effective support of Autistic and ADHD individuals.
