Help Us Print the Guide to Bay Area Reptiles!

We’ve created a pocket-sized field guide featuring every reptile species found in the Bay Area! Designed to complement classroom learning, this durable, waterproof guide helps students and families explore local wildlife right in their own backyards.

By learning to recognize and appreciate these amazing animals, we take the first steps toward protecting the reptiles that share our environment.

A True Community Effort

This guide is the result of a collaboration among 15+ dedicated Bay Area volunteers — including researchers, biologists, citizen scientists, wildlife educators, photographers, illustrators, and designers.

Together, we’ve created an accessible, visually engaging, and scientifically accurate resource that highlights all 30 reptile species native to the Bay Area.

We’re Almost There — and We Need Your Help!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Contra Costa County Fish and Wildlife Committee, we have partial funding to distribute the first 2,000 guides for free to students in West Contra Costa County schools.

But we still need to raise $1,800 to cover printing costs and bring this project to life!

Your contribution directly supports local science education and reptile conservation awareness.
