Story
EcoVivarium is a one-of-a-kind living museum featuring reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods that allows visitors direct interaction with the Ambassador Animals! We provide education programs for students and are one of the largest reptile sanctuaries in the United States. Our programs inspire learning and train, future-generation conservationists. We are the only hope for many animals, as no other facilities are willing and equipped to take on their medical and behavioral challenges.
We are in urgent need of your financial support. Since the pandemic shut down three years ago, we have faced and overcome significant challenges. From the eighteen months of state-mandated closure to skyrocketing prices for basic food, supplies, and emergency veterinary care - we have had emergency funds to weather them all until now. We've seen a 100% increase in rescues, with 3/4 requiring veterinary care, food/supply costs tripling, and now astronomical electric and gas bills with threats of shut-off! We have exhausted our emergency funds and are now depending on the generosity of you, our supporters, and the general public to get us through.
We MUST pay nearly $12,000 this month for electricity & gas by January 20 or face electric and gas shut-off, placing the animals and the museum at grave risk. We are working hard to reduce expenses where possible. We will not give up on helping the children or saving the animals. We urgently need your help. With the combined impact of the extended pandemic shutdown, economic downturn, tripled cost for essential supplies, and now substantial utility increases, our overhead has doubled. We have exhausted our emergency funds, and several significant grantors have delayed the grants by three to six months.
We need your help to meet these increased financial demands and rebuild our emergency fund. Despite the dire current situation, the future is booking rapidly, with programs well into the summer already. With your support, we will emerge stronger on the other side.
