Resonance is a space for adult women songwriters and musicians to nurture their creativity, find community, and gain confidence in their craft in a non-judgemental environement.

In the first hour, we’ll focus on creative wellness—how to sustain your artistic practice, protect your creative energy, and stay inspired. In the second hour, we’ll host a "No Dumb Questions" session, where attendees can anonymously submit questions about anything related to their craft — gear set-ups, recording technology, booking gigs, business questions, anything! Whether you're wondering about the best mic for your voice, how to EQ a track, or what DAW to start with, this is your chance to ask and learn in a welcoming, supportive environment. As we wrap up, we'll discuss ways Girls Write Nashville can support our adult artist community in the future.

This event is free and open to up to 25 participants. Preregistration is required.

Please note: The event has a focus on the lived experience of adult women artists. All Girls Write Nashville programming is unequivocally welcoming to trans, non-binary and gender-expansive people. All are welcome!

About Girls Write Nashville

Girls Write Nashville empowers expression through songwriting, production, mentorship and creative community for teen artists. We are an artist- and educator-led 501(c)(3) creative youth development program in Nashville, TN allied with community schools to create safe and trauma-informed creative communities and opportunities for cultural participation for youth.

We identify as a social impact organization working within creative and expressive justice. We work to be co-conspirators for youth mental health.

Founded in 2016 as a one-time community arts project funded by a $2,800 micro-grant, co-founders continued the program as a nonprofit after our initial nine participants asked to come back next year.

Since then, we have grown to serve over 200 students annually with over 5,500 hours of free community-based music programs. Our work has been featured on NPR’s Here & Now, named Best of Nashville “Best Teen Programming”, and been recognized as a semi-finalist for the Lewis Prize for Music.
