Adopt a Vet Dental Program (AAVD) identifies and qualifies each case, then seeks appropriate dental care for the qualified veteran. All dental services are provided pro bono to qualifying veterans. AAVD has served 1,500 Veterans and has reached $7,703,53301 in Donated Services. Help AAVD support our Veterans.

There are more than 19 million Veterans in the United States and of that number 240,000 live in the State of Nevada. 7.6% of the 240,000 live in poverty according to the Housing Assistance Council of Nevada accounting for more than 18,000. There is no statistical data that states how many, if any, of those 18,000 have a 100% disabled rating. The VA Dental Program in Nevada will only treat Veterans who meet one or more of the following criteria:

Must have been a Prisoner of War - The National Headquarters for the Prisoner of War office in Washington D.C. states that there are only 3,000 living Prisoners of War still alive today. I personally spoke to this organization to verify that this was the actual number. Their number is 817.649.2979 and the Chief Executive Officer is Cheryl Cerbone.

There must have been an injury to the mouth that affected their teeth or jaw – In OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) there were 2,504 injuries to service members considered to be OMF (Oral Maxillofacial injuries). In OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and OND (Operation New Dawn) there were 3,676 injuries to service members considered to be OMF. This information was retrieved from the Oral-Maxillofacial Injury Surveillance of U.S. Military Personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan, 2001 to 2014. These numbers I have just presented are the numbers represented in the study on OMF injuries, but they do not specify how many of the 6,180 Veterans were specifically hurt in the mouth that would cause them to be treated at the VA for full dental care. Some of the service members in this study did not survive their injuries but they were still counted.

They must have a rating of 100% disabled from the VA - The only Data, which is noted by Statista, a well-respected statistical platform, stated that there are about 1.9 million Veterans in the United States that have a 70% or higher disability rating. There are no statistics that I have found that specify how many of those 1.9 million have a rating of 100%. We share that number with all 50 states with our Veteran population being on the lower end of most of the states in the union. The VA Dental program here in Nevada does not treat the 18,000 poverty-stricken Veterans that live in Nevada. Nevada has one VA dental clinic, and it is located in Reno.

Once a ball is purchased you will be sent an email with your assigned ball number.  You do not need to be present to win.
