Big Brothers of Butte was founded in 1966 and was incorporated in 1967, the first such organization in Montana. In 1977 Big Sisters was organized in Butte to compliment Big Brothers and forming Big Brothers Big Sister of Butte-Silver Bow. Throughout our history, the philosophy of Big Brothers Big Sisters has remained the same – friendship, guidance and role modeling for children facing adversity. Continued expansion of the programs and services has enabled Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte-Silver Bow to expand beyond its one - on – one Community Based Program to reach more children through our School Based Mentoring Program.
