Welcome to the Rhode Island Black Philanthropy Month (RIBPM) Campaign.
About Black Philanthropy Month (BPM), is a global celebration and concerted campaign to elevate African-descent giving and funding equity. Incubated starting in 2001 by its Founder Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland, with the support of Reunity, formerly the Pan-African Women's Philanthropy Network, BPM launched in 2011 with its first official global summit to commemorate the United Nations Year and Decade of People of African Descent. In 2020 during the global pandemic there were 10 Black Funding Principles developed. Details Here (SOURCE: https://www.blackphilanthropymonth.com)
In 2021 The MUSE Foundation of Rhode Island (#MUSEOFRI) worked with Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza was the first New England city to sign a proclamation that recognizes Black Philanthropy Month (BPM). This August 2022 The MUSE Foundation of Rhode Island is working with Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee to sign a statewide proclamation making Rhode Island the first state in New England to recognize BPM.
Rhode Island Black Philanthropy Month (RIBPM) is a #MUSEOFRI crowdfunded / collective giving initiative campaign to highlight black lead organizations and demystify philanthropy for the Rhode Island black community at large. In strategic partnership with United Way of Rhode Island this August 2022 The MUSE Foundation of Rhode Island created a #RIBPM awareness campaign highlighting black lead organizations it recognized for the work they do in the community.
#MUSEOFRI Black Philanthropy Month Fund: The funds raised from the #RIBPM campaign will be evenly divided between the highlighted organizations to be applied to their general funds. Donation amounts start at $10! Please help us reach our goal.
We are accepting donations up until the end of the year December 31, 2022 for this campaign. Please support Black Philanthropy 365 days of the year!
