From Stan Zimmerman (writer of Golden Girls and Gilmore Girls), Right before I go. highlights the raw struggles of people that have died by suicide. The play uses real suicide notes of celebrities, veterans, bullied teens, those identifying as LGBTQ+, people who have experienced a range of mental health calamities - as well as those who have survived attempts. The show is followed by a conversation between cast and audience, moderated by a mental health professional.

Stan and his team are aiming to take Right before I go. to Edinburgh Fringe, the biggest theatre festival in the world, this summer. They have the opportunity to reach 4,200 audience members from all over the world across 24 performances. They are also working to partner with local schools to bring this important piece directly to the most vulnerable populations. Edinburgh Fringe provides a fantastic opportunity to start a conversation about suicide at the world's most prominent theatre festival, breaking through the stigma and educating audiences.

Stan and his team are also hoping to take this show beyond Fringe, and have an even wider impact - Edinburgh Fringe is the place where many small shows are discovered and launched onto bigger stages. Doing a run in Edinburgh makes it more likely they could get this show onto big stages in London, New York, and around the world, as well as launch tours around the US & UK. This show can ultimately break the silence on a global scale.

Funds raised through this campaign will go towards the costs of putting the show on in Edinburgh this August. Any funds remaining after the cost of production will go to the benefit of the SL24 Foundation.
