Unity Performing Arts Foundation has been given an amazing opportunity to once again participate in
the World Choir Games! This July, the World Champion Voices of Unity Youth Choir will travel to
Aukland, New Zealand to compete in The Olympics of the Choral World.
The Rise Up Tour is more than a series of performances; it's a life-changing opportunity that profoundly
impacts our students. The preparation for something of this magnitude is unprecedented and will shape
their character, attitude, and mindset during their early years. From the intensive training sessions that
hone their talents to the invaluable cultural immersion awaiting them in New Zealand, where the global
choir community converges, our choir members are poised for an unparalleled growth experience. This
platform boosts their confidence and places them on an international pedestal, proudly representing
Fort Wayne and surrounding areas, Indiana, and the United States.
As Special Project Manager overseeing UNITY’s Rising With Purpose Initiative, I’m so proud of our
students, staff, volunteers and all who are supporting this exciting and worthwhile endeavor.
Students will be exposed to international travel, but more importantly, they’ll be emersed in another
culture, hear choirs representing unique cultures from all over the world, build life-long global
relationships, and more.
This venture, however, calls for collective support. You’ll see the kids working to raise their part of the
funds at car washes, bake sales, and pop-up singing events around town.
Additionally, every donation becomes a cornerstone of this ambitious project. Your support is not just
financial; it's a vote of confidence in UNITY, an investment in our student’s future, and a contribution to
a legacy of excellence and resilience.
My personal goal is to raise $10,000 for the effort. If I am not able to attend, I ask that all donations be
transferred to UNITY’s general travel fund to support those students that are more fiscally challenged.

What is the real IMPACT?
Personal Impact: Our diverse group of students, ranging in age from 6 to 18, originates from 16 different
zip codes within the city, spanning five racial categories, with a significant portion being children of
color. This unparalleled opportunity provides them with exposure to experiences they likely wouldn't
encounter until their college years. The preparation involved not only introduces them to a culture of
excellence at an early age, where hard work and the pursuit of goals beyond themselves are paramount,
but also enhances their abilities, hones their talents, and sharpens their skills. It boosts their confidence,
empowering them to believe they can achieve big goals. Furthermore, these opportunities are crucial
for countering negative influences they may face during their upbringing, providing a positive and
transformative experience.
