Without bystander intervention, survival rates are low (around 10%), while prompt, bystander-initiated CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival.

Low Bystander Action: Only about 46% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims receive bystander CPR.
Survival Impact: People who receive bystander CPR have an almost 2-fold higher rate of survival to hospital discharge compared to those who do not (10.2% vs 5.5%).
Time Sensitivity: For every minute without CPR, survival chance decreases by 7% to 10%.
Improved Odds: Immediate bystander CPR can increase survival odds by up to 81%, particularly if performed within 2 minutes of the event.
