About Us

Palmetto Choral Collective is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers multiple community choirs serving youth grades K-12 and adults. We explore an eclectic range of musical styles, and foster a fun, friendly and creative atmosphere. We work together to build choral skills and musicianship while having a lot of fun. No auditions required!

We are committed to providing audition-free, equal access to quality music education in the Charleston area through recurring rehearsals, instruction, workshops, performances, summer camps, and community-building activities for all members.

We collaborate with other quality organizations such as Charleston Stage Company, Charleston Opera Theater, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Taylor Festival Choir, Spoleto Festival USA and Charleston County Public Library. We nurture musicianship, encourage leadership, foster inclusivity, and unite people in harmony, strengthening the broader community through the power of music! 🎵

We passionately believe that choral music education is for everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background or previous experience. We are not affiliated with any school or church, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all.

Our Mission

To unite our members and the broader community through the power of music and singing by providing quality, diverse, and audition-free music education for youth and adults regardless of prior musical experience or socioeconomic background. We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture where every member feels valued, respected, empowered, and inspired.

Our artistic and educational goals are:

To develop musical literacy and healthy vocal technique
To learn diverse and quality choral literature
To develop foundational life skills, including confidence, leadership, communication and collaboration
To share musical messages of peace, hope, love and justice through varied performance opportunities
To give back to our community through service projects

Our Vision

The vision of Palmetto Choral Collective is to be a vibrant hub and welcoming musical family for inclusive choral music education and community connection that honors every voice. Choristers will build confidence, creativity, leadership, enduring relationships, and teamwork as they progress through different levels of our organization. Our organization will offer a supportive space for connection and self-expression, where members enjoy the mental and social benefits of singing together.
