Welcome to Casco Bay Community Rowing, where new and experienced rowers come together to get out on the water in a traditional 32’ Cornish Pilot Gig!

It can begin with an urge to get out on the water, to get away from land, to gain confidence, to learn some basic seamanship or to meet somebody new. Maybe you think of it as “real” exercise. Maybe you want to see some islands up close. Or maybe you want to join some high school kids teaching them water skills and giving them access for the first time. Whatever it is that gets you out on the water with both of your hands on the same 12-and-a-half-foot-long oar in a 32-foot historic rowing gig, here is a chance to enrich your life experience in Maine. Whatever your reasons, you’ll be rowing in minutes, seeing land from sea and communing with seals and salt air.
