“The Big Dog Fund in Memory of Roy C. Marcum”

The Big Dog Fund in Memory of Roy C. Marcum has been established by the Marcum family and TEAM to provide support and care for large breed dogs in need at Bradshaw Animal Shelter.

Your donation will help fund special medical consultations, surgeries and procedures, and/or behavioral training to save dogs' lives and make them adoptable. Your donation may also be used to save the lives of large breed dogs by providing financial assistance to 501c3 rescue organizations that pull at-risk dogs who are not eligible for general adoption through the shelter.

Animal Control Officer Roy C. Marcum served the Sacramento community for 14 years. He was shot and killed in the line of duty on November 28, 2012. In his work with animals, he always rooted for the underdog and he was known for dropping anything at any time to help anyone in need. His giving spirit lives on as we continue to help more animals, particularly at-risk large breed dogs, with this fund in his memory.
