Burn the System!

Our 2026-27 season, "Burn the System," explores what happens when people refuse to accept the world as it is. This season challenges the structures that shape us through education, identity, faith, and power. These shows ask us what must be dismantled to make room for something more honest. Through stories of resistance, identity, justice, and belonging, these plays examine the systems that shape our lives, the courage it takes to question them, and the cost of breaking free from them. “Burn the System” is a season about disruption, resistance, and radical self-definition.

The Connection to Our Mission

We strive to amplify underrepresented voices, focusing on stories of Black, Queer, and marginalized communities, challenging perspectives and inspiring change through inclusivity, diversity, and community collaboration. Admissions exposes the hypocrisy within progressive spaces, forcing us to confront how privilege persists even among those who claim to reject it. This play is in our season because it refuses easy answers and demands accountability from audiences who think they’re already “doing the work.” Fat Ham reimagines Shakespeare’s Hamlet through a queer, Black Southern family gathering where grief, tradition, and expectations collide. This play is in our season because it asks what happens when we refuse to inherit the violence handed down to us, choosing instead to redefine family, masculinity, and what it means to break a cycle. Angry F@gs is loud, unapologetic, and furious in all the right ways, exploring queer rage as both a weapon and a warning. This play refuses to sanitize anger and instead asks what happens when marginalized voices stop asking for permission.

The Impact of Your Support

Our fundraising goal for this season is $15,000, with a $5000 budget per show. This includes the rights to the plays, renting rehearsal and performance spaces, building the sets, and finding or renting costumes, set pieces, and props. Additionally, this year we hope to provide free tickets to 1 in 10, an LGBTQ youth support organization, and Women's Crisis centers. Would you consider donating $10 to help us hit our goal?
