At Pope County Humane Society, we believe every cat deserves a life filled with love, comfort, and care — especially the ones who come to us broken, scared, and in need of urgent help. Right now, a few of our shelter kitties are facing serious medical challenges, and we’re asking for your support to help them heal and support their medical expenses.

🐱 Meet Our Fighters:

💙 Jax

Jax came to us as an adult cat with mysterious and severe stomach issues. After a vet visit and X-rays, we discovered the heartbreaking cause: Jax had swallowed multiple hair ties, leading to a dangerous blockage. He required emergency surgery to save his life. He’s now on the road to recovery — and he’s fighting every day with quiet strength.

🧡 Maverick

Maverick is just a baby, but he's already been through so much. When he came to us, he had a severe eye infection that had gone untreated for too long. Sadly, one of his eyes ruptured. With limited vision, he’s learning to navigate his world in a whole new way — but he’s brave, curious, and full of love. He’s a champ when it comes to taking his meds, and other than standing in his food he’s a model kitten. He doesn’t even yell at his foster mom when it comes to medications and baths, just squeaks a quiet hello

🧡 Yahtzee

Yahtzee is battling painful bladder stones. He’s undergoing constant testing, scans, and may need surgery soon to live comfortably. He is requiring a special diet that includes pricier food to help manage his urinary system. Yahtzee is a young, spunky cat with a big personality and just the right amount of goofy charm. He’s outgoing, playful, and always on the move—chasing toys, zooming around the room, or exploring every corner like it’s a brand-new world.

Each of these sweet souls needs specialized medical treatment, follow-up care, and time to heal. Their expenses are rising quickly — and as a nonprofit, we rely on our compassionate community to make miracles happen.
