From Shelter to Search

Category 5 K9 works with shelters and rescues to screen dogs for potential to become search dogs. They partner with different organizations and directly with handlers to find those high drive rescue dogs jobs they love. The Category 5 K9 alumni have jobs in wilderness and urban search and rescue, narcotics detection, explosives detection, contraband detection, and even conservation work.

Search and Rescue Team

Category 5 K9 has a volunteer search team made up of certified search and rescue canine teams that are available 24/7 to help local first responders find the lost and missing.

From Search to Retirement

Category 5 K9 also partners with Texas Task Force Foundation to provide support toward the medical care of retired Texas A&M Task Force canines. These canines served communities across the United States after disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, and structural collapse now it's our turn to support them.
