🎃 Ruck-or-Treat: One Community, One Mission

At American Legion Post 27 Ocala, we believe in bringing our community together in ways that honor our Veterans, support our families, and create lasting memories. That’s why we’re proud to host Ruck-or-Treat, a one-of-a-kind event where service meets celebration.

This family-friendly gathering is more than just candy and costumes—it’s a chance to connect with those who have served, walk side-by-side with our Veterans, and show our children the true spirit of community. Participants can join us for a 2.2-mile ruck or walk in recognition of the 22 Veterans we lose each day, carrying weight as a symbol of remembrance—or simply walking in support.

After the ruck, the fun continues with our Trunk-or-Treat zone, where kids of all ages can enjoy decorated vehicles, festive games, and, of course, plenty of treats. There’s also a costume contest for the best-dressed ghouls, goblins, and superheroes!

Every step taken and every treat shared helps us shine a light on Veteran issues, strengthen ties within Marion County, and remind our neighbors that Post 27 is here to serve both Veterans and the community.

We invite you to lace up your boots, bring your family, dress up, and join us for an unforgettable evening of unity, honor, and Halloween fun. Together, let’s carry the load, share the joy, and make Ruck-or-Treat a tradition that keeps growing year after year.

Because at Post 27, we know that when Veterans, families, and community come together—everyone wins.
