Hey, I'm Luke Mantel — and this June, I'm running across the state of Wisconsin to raise funds for mental health.

I've partnered with Bigger Than The Trail, a 501(c)(3) organization that uses trail running as a platform to advocate for mental health. They come alongside individuals, providing educational support and treatment options — and their mission goes far beyond just runners. Running isn't the focus; the people we can impact are. The goal is to bring light to the real struggles and challenges that come with mental health.

So why am I doing this?

In a few words, to be the superhero in my own life's story.

In more words: I never thought I'd live past 25, let alone become someone I'd be proud of. Years of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and self-hatred led me into what felt like a hole I couldn't escape. Then I found fitness, and I started climbing out. After a few years of strength training, running became my outlet — a way to channel the negative energy and face everything life had put me through, head-on.

As I progressed, I got more confident. Every aspect of my life started improving. I started learning about people who took on massive challenges like this, and I was intrigued, inspired, and captivated. Eventually, I realized — anything is possible. Even for me.

Now, it's my mission to instill that belief in others. That's why I'm running across Wisconsin. That's why every dollar raised goes toward giving someone else the support I wish I'd had sooner.
