In mid-January, we were saddened to discover that 26 brass water faucets and bibs were stolen overnight from our site. This hardware connects directly to the pipes that supply water to our gardens, making it possible for volunteers, staff, and P-Patch families to care for the garden beds and guild areas throughout the forest.

Without these parts, we simply can’t keep our forest and gardens hydrated during the planting, growing, and harvest seasons.

Each faucet costs $25 to replace, and when many are taken at once, the impact adds up quickly. In addition to replacing what was stolen, we also want to take steps to prevent this from happening again.

Funds raised through this campaign will help us:

Replace the stolen water faucets and bibs
Purchase lumber and supplies to build protective boxes around them
Reinforce and weatherproof these fixtures so they’re harder to steal and better protected from cold weather

Altogether, these repairs and improvements will cost us $1,000 in supplies alone. We are hoping to raise funds to help cover these costs so our community programs can continue without disruption. If you’re able to donate any amount, it would be greatly appreciated.
