In the beginning, my dream was to study Computer Systems Engineering. During my school years, I worked hard and succeeded in gaining admission to Al-Azhar University. It was my dream because we live in a technological era, and I love this field.

I faced many difficulties at first. I enrolled in the program in 2022, and by June, I completed my first year. Usually in Gaza, the first year is a general year that covers various subjects to help students explore different engineering fields before choosing their specialization.

I chose Computer Systems Engineering, and in October, I began my second year in the specialization. I was full of enthusiasm, especially with my close friends by my side.

But at the start of the war, I lost my friend—she was martyred in a treacherous attack on their home, even though everyone inside was a female.

In June 2024, the university announced the resumption of online learning. I faced many difficulties, especially with internet access. I live in Mawasi Khan Younis, where the internet is very weak. The strongest connection was in Deir al-Balah, so I had to travel long distances to get access, and suffered a lot with transportation.

Now, I am close to finishing my third year in the specialization.

As for financial support, it would help me greatly, especially by allowing me to take my exams on time. After finishing my studies, I would be able to obtain my certificate easily, as I won’t have any financial backlog.

What motivates me to keep going is the dream I carry—for myself, for my father, and for my friend whom I lost. Every time I feel like giving up, I revive myself again.
