We’re the Patribots / Team 4738, a high school robotics team with a big challenge each year: design, build, and compete with a 120-pound robot in just a few short weeks. It sounds a little wild — and it is. You’ll find us huddled in the shop after school, covered in grease, laughing one minute and stressing the next, celebrating like crazy when something finally works.

But FRC is more than just robots. It’s learning CAD and coding late into the night. It’s figuring out how to fix a motor that refuses to cooperate. It’s students stepping up to lead, learning to collaborate under pressure, and realizing their ideas can actually come to life. For many of us, this team is the first real chance we’ve had to build something that feels bigger than ourselves.

The truth is: we can’t do this without help. Motors, controllers, aluminum, safety gear, competition fees, and travel — the costs add up quickly. Without support, some of our teammates wouldn’t be able to afford to compete at all.
