Instructions for Attendees

1. Limited parking is available, please consider carpooling with others you know attending the event. We will have a valet service for people who need help.
2. This event is outdoor, and seating will be on the lawn. Please bring lawn chairs, cushions, yoga mats, or any other lawn seating of your choice. There'll be limited chair seating at the back.
3. Light breakfast and tea will be provided. Please bring your own water bottles.
4. Remember to get your caps, hats, and sunscreen for use later in the morning.
5. This event starts at 8:30 AM and lasts about 3 hours.

Sangeethaamsha's founding story

During the pandemic, Classical musicians in India were hit hard because the two primary opportunities to make money (live events and teaching) were banned. We originally started as a small group of volunteers, who raised money for artists in India to hold virtual Zoom concerts for a small audience in the US. Encouraged by feedback from the local community, we formally incorporated Sangeethaamsha as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2022, and have created a modest name for ourselves.

Our goal now is to nurture, teach, produce, or provide access to a variety of arts experiences encompassing the visual, media, or performing arts, with particular intent to promote the rich heritage of Classical music from the subcontinent to the young members of the community as well as the mainstream population in the U.S. We're founded and operated by a group of volunteers from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our performances are typically organized in the “Baithak” style, which provides an intimate exchange of experience between the artist and the audience.This style elevates appreciation of the music, accelerates learning, and importantly, helps interpret artist’s musical expression. We also facilitate free & paid workshops and invite visiting guests, teachers, and artists to perform in intimate venues.
