Why Traffick Jam?

Last year's “Palm Beach Traffick Jam” was an inspiring success! Cars, Advocates and Music all JAMMING” to bring awareness and fundraise for this important cause to stop Human Trafficking. in the USA. And this year because of the generosity of UNBRIDLED AIR we are bringing our informational, educational, supportive and celebratory event to their magnificant hangar in Sarasota . . . . and adding JETS!!!!

Many people believe that slavery ended in the U.S. over 150 years ago. Unfortunately, the over 300 survivors lives who MoviesMakingADifference have changed, prove otherwise. It’s estimated that exploitation for labor, sex and indentured servitude earn traffickers over $32 billion annually in our country. Often we don’t know or see the warning signs.

Tragically, the average age of entry is just 14 years old for both male and female victims. It is thought that more than 300,000 people are trapped in a life of labor exploitation or forced prostitution within our borders. The majority are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.

MoviesMakingADifference believes that these statistics can be changed through community-wide education and empowerment. With support of local-nonprofit organizations and local businesses, Traffick Jam Sarasota will link our local families, friends, leaders, and professionals with the tools and resources to know what to look for and then what to do before the unthinkable happens and before our hearts at MoviesMakingADifference sink when we see another in-coming call.
