URGENT — HARRIET HAS UNDERGONE EMERGENCY SURGERY
Our beautiful 12-year-old Harriet needs her community.
Last week, Harriet simply wasn’t herself. Bloodwork at Animal Care Hospital of Walnut Creek showed that she was anemic. Further diagnostics uncovered something much more serious:
Harriet had a tumor on her spleen.
Her condition became an emergency, and Harriet was taken to VEG in Pleasant Hill, where she underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor.

If you know Harriet, you know JOY.
Her enormous eyes.
Her wagging tail.
Her funny little happy gallop.
Her absolute delight when she sees someone coming toward her.
This is the girl we’re fighting for.

Harriet came to Hugs for Harry after she was found wandering in an Orinda park, with toenails so badly overgrown they were curling into her paw pads. We opened our door and promised her: You are safe. You are loved. And we will take care of you.

Now we need Harriet’s community to help us keep that promise.❤️

Her emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, surgery, medication and follow-up care are a huge unexpected expense for our small rescue Harriet's vet bills, to date, have run up to $14,000.00!

Please donate to Harriet’s emergency medical fund.
No donation is too small. $10, $25, $50, $100—it all adds up

And PLEASE SHARE. Even if you cannot donate, sharing Harriet’s story could put her in front of someone who can.
Harriet has given so many people joy. Now it’s our turn to show up for Harriet.
