After graciously housing the rescue for over 15 years Ann and Jeff are ready to have their property back and enjoy a peaceful retirement together. We have also outgrown our home and need more space so that the rescue can stretch its legs and expand. If you own a property or know of someone who may have the perfect fit, we have included a few details about what we are looking for below:

For renting: 7 acres minimum with a barn, power and water
For purchasing: 20-50 Acres Minimum
Location: Surry, Alstead, Langdon, Acworth and Marlow

We have an amazing team of SYA volunteers and supporters who are ready to put their boots on the ground to get the rescue set up wherever we are lucky enough to land.

Right now our largest need in addition to finding property is obtaining funding for the initial purchase and all that comes with moving the rescue to it's new home.

We have so many visions of what we will be able to accomplish with a larger space and how many long ear lives we will be able to save. Here are some of our long term goals for a new property:

Designated long term care area for senior and special needs donkeys
Quarantine area for sick/injured animals that come into the rescue who can’t go in with “gen pop"
‘Donkey Barn’ - a big open concept barn tailored specifically for donkeys
Dry lots and undercover deep sand/dust bath areas for donkeys to enjoy
Vet care area. Our work requires a dry, flat and solid area undercover where we can have vet work, dentistry, hoof trimming and other veterinary care procedures done.
