About one million women suffer from untreated birth trauma (obstetric fistula) — causing them to: uncontrollably leak urine and/or stool (in areas of the world without diapers); smell bad; be outcast; and feel deep shame.

✳️ The good news:

The bottom-up, ultra-effective organization Fistula Foundation has provided over 90,000 procedures, curing women from their injuries and shame — and they are able to restore health to an additional woman 👩 for every $619 they receive.

Fistula Foundation even hopes to erradicate this condition from earth 🌍 within our lifetimes (with our help).
