Every student deserves a place to sit and learn.

At the Instituto Mixto de Educación Básica por Cooperativa (IMEB) in San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala, approximately 95 students arrive each afternoon ready to learn and build a better future.

But many of the desks they depend on are more than 35 years old.

Years of constant use have left the school with broken, unstable, and worn-out desks. There simply are not enough usable seats for every student. At times, the school has had to borrow desks from neighboring primary schools, incurring transportation costs and repair expenses, and creating uncertainty about whether students will have a proper place to work.

We have an opportunity to change that.

Sueños y Esperanzas and Dreams and Hopes are raising $2,500 to provide 95 new student desks for the school.

A desk may seem like a simple thing, but for a student it means much more. It is a place to open a textbook, take notes, solve a problem, and imagine what comes next.

Your contribution will help replace worn-out furniture with durable new desks and give these students and their teachers the learning environment they deserve.

Our goal: 95 students, 95 desks. $2,500.

Whether you help provide one desk, several desks, or make a gift toward the overall project, you are helping remove one more barrier between a young person and an education.

A seat to learn. A future to build.
