For the fifth year in a row, Rain City Fit will be directing a block-party-style deadlift competition and fundraiser for our local Seattle LGBTQIA+ community. Rain City Fit is located in the heart of Seattle’s historic gay neighborhood, Capitol Hill, and proudly serves as a home to Seattle’s queer lifting community + their allies.

Pride Deadlift Party is a celebration of strength: both of our lifters anode this beautiful queer community. Our lifters will be pushing their deadlift maxes while raising awareness and funds for our LGBTQIA+ friends, families, and neighbors. Over the past 4 years, we've raised over $180k for local LGBTQIA+ organizations. And with 300 lifters taking the platform this year, we're so excited to make this our biggest and best event, yet!

As always... any and everybody is welcome to join (unless you’re a transphobe). There will be a live DJ, drag performances from Queer/Bar's local queens, raffle opportunities, food, and more! 100% of funds raised will go directly towards our beneficiaries (listed below) and we will always be transparent with photo documentation during our donation process. Our ask for participants who are lifting is to aim to fundraise $1 per pound lifted. For example, someone who plans on lifting 200lbs should aim to try to raise $200. If each person pledges to aim to raise this amount, we should be able to reach our collective goal. If you're donating on behalf of a certain lifter, feel free to give them a shoutout or join their individual fundraising page.

UTOPIA Washington: This is our third year supporting UTOPIA Washington as a main beneficiary and we truly can’t get enough.

Their work centers transgender and gender diverse people of Pacific Islander descent, with a primary focus on direct, real world support. Through their clinics and community programs, they provide healthcare, resources, and services that too many people are otherwise unable to access. We chose them again because they are not just advocating, they are actively taking care of people. It is immediate, tangible, and life changing work that strengthens the entire community.

Pizza Klatch: This is our first year supporting Pizza Klatch and we absolutely love what they do.

They create safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in schools across Washington by hosting weekly lunch groups where students can show up exactly as they are. Plus, there is free pizza! It sounds simple, but having a consistent, supportive space like that can be life changing. We chose them because this is early, upstream care. They are making sure queer and trans youth feel seen, supported, and less alone during some of the most important years of their lives.

Queer Sick Pay Fund (qSPF): The Queer Sick Pay Fund is a community-built safety net for queer performers in Seattle and a reminder that we take care of our own.

They run two core programs: Sick Pay and Gender Affirming Care Grants. Sick Pay supports queer contracted performers who need to miss work due to illness, because losing even one gig can hit hard. It helps people stay home when they’re sick, protecting both their health and the broader community. Their Gender Affirming Care Grants provide direct financial support to trans folks covering the costs of gender affirming surgeries-- care that is often life saving but far too inaccessible.

We chose qSPF because this is mutual aid in action. It's imperative that queer and trans people can stay safe, get care, and keep showing up as themselves.

The goal of Pride Deadlift Party is provide a space to strive towards collective liberation and transformation within strength sports. We believe that strength is for everybody and that lifting events should be inclusive for every sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, and gender identity. Furthermore, trans athletes belong on the platform and will always be welcome and celebrated while lifting with us. This is a TERF and hate-free event. Period.
