According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Nigeria currently has 20 million out of school children and has the most out of school children in the world. Makoko is a 200 year old water community in Lagos,Nigeria where families live on water in abject poverty, with thousands of children out of school. In 2018, we started building relationships with the residents and youth in Makoko and since then all they've kept asking for has been education for the children and their community.
