Unfortunately, that’s the problem for over 170 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa where 1 in 3 young women cannot read and are living in abject poverty. However, you can be part of the solution and help begin the journey of wealth creation for them by investing in their education. We believe it is within our power to create a world in which all children in Makoko have access to a good quality education. The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success, it can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation. Our new program "Selected" allows you to be part of a life changing role by bringing quality education to Makoko, by giving you the opportunity to be selected as an investor by a child who needs your investment the most. This way we can give the children power to select who invests in them, their education and their future.

According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Nigeria currently has 20 million out of school children and has the most out of school children in the world. Makoko is a 200 year old water community in Lagos,Nigeria where families live on water in abject poverty, with thousands of children out of school. In 2018, we started building relationships with the residents and youth in Makoko and since then all they've kept asking for has been education for the children and their community.

Breakdown
The breakdown of your donation goes as this 10% - Admin, 30% Contingency, 60% program. We have a contingency in place because we understand things change and sometimes people cannot give for a whole year. You will be selected after 3 to 6 months by a child in Makoko.
