I'm going to Uganda as a missionary.

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" Isaiah 6:8

Since 2016, I've served farming communities in Uganda through The Boon Project. After years of prayer, I believe God is calling me there full-time, to make His love tangible by helping rural families move from aid to lasting livelihoods, and sharing the gospel as relationships grow.

My priorities, in order:

Lead Boon's nonprofit programs on the ground
Grow Global Industrial Hemp Solutions (GIHS), a mission-driven company funded separately by its own investors
Build MGRA, my consulting practice, so I can become self-sustaining

What we've built

Mushroom cultivation training for women in Bugiri, Iganga, and Amuru, including a mushroom house in Amuru. Our Iganga group is now self-sustaining. Making Shroom For Her.
Farming Project for a Babies Home
Women's agribusiness start-ups: Pinto, Soy, launched the Judith Project for improving nutrition for vulnerable women and their children, also providing household income, school fees, and medicines
49 villages trained in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP and Regen Ag), with tools and ongoing oversight
A government-approved multi-purpose farming cooperative
Women's agribusiness start-ups
Bibles provided through a local church
A research partnership with NARO

Through GIHS, we've secured hemp trial approval in Uganda, approvals in the DRC and Zambia, and a 3,000-farmer cooperative ready to grow.

Why I need to be there

I built all of this while working full-time in the US and visiting about once a year. We've learned that projects need consistent follow-up, reliable supplies, and someone present to solve problems. I have a few resources on the ground, but they need me there to lead, support, and keep the work moving. Being there full-time is how this work keeps advancing.

I've been praying, making life adjustments, and downsizing to make this possible. I'm not giving up. But I can't get there without your help.

The budget: $6,700/month + $6,000 relocation

Housing in a secure Kampala neighborhood: $1,500
Vehicle, fuel, and site travel: $1,700
Food, technology, and conferences: $1,000
Health and evacuation insurance: $450
US obligations: $800
Taxes and contingency: $1,250

That's 67 ministry partners giving $100 a month. Even $25 or $10 a month helps. This budget is less than the salary Boon's board approved for this role, which I've never drawn. This campaign covers Year 1 of a two-year plan. As MGRA grows, my need for support will step down. Project costs, like building the mushroom garden center, are funded separately.
