My name is September, and this summer, I'm attending Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival. I'm raising funds to help my family better afford this experience for me.

I have a good amount of musical experience and am involved in music in school, church, and in my community. I've been in choirs since 4th grade. So far, I've been in Circle the State with Song, FW Children's Choir, IN All-State Honor Choir (sop. 2), my church choir, and various school programs (alto, mezzo, and sop. 1/2 at different points!). At most, I've been in four choirs at once across three vocal parts! I've actually never done any one-on-one vocal training, but I think it'd be pretty fun and helpful! I'm actively in three choirs at the moment, two of which are my school's advanced audition choirs. I currently sing Alto, Sop. 1, and Sop. 2 when it comes to voice parts. I've always been willing to go wherever my skills are most needed. I've had some experience with being a soloist--so far, from 7th to 10th grade (where I'm at now), I've received at least one solo per year. I just got one, in fact!

I'd really love to attend LSM because I've heard from people I know how good the program is for singers like me. I also adore the fact that it's rooted in faith! I hope to be able to improve my choral techniques while getting the opportunity to work with well-established professionals. I also hope to gain a new perspective on my faith and grow closer to people my age who share that common ground with me. I'm really excited to have that chance!

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus.
