Who We Are

Foothold International is a faith-based nonprofit serving rural communities in Kenya, East Africa. We work alongside local leaders and employ local people to implement sustainable clean water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions that protect girls, strengthen families, and open pathways out of poverty.

Why Taveta, Kenya?

We were invited.
Before founding Foothold, we built long-term relationships with schools, churches, and community leaders in this rural region. Few organizations serve here, and the needs are great—making our partnership especially meaningful.

A Lifesaving Impact

When the Rekeke Dispensary lost access to water in 2022, maternal care stopped. For just $70/month, Foothold—through a local Rotary grant—restored water delivery, reopening the clinic to pregnant mothers and young children. Local health officials have told us this support has saved many lives.

Looking Forward

We are now working with the health department to design a long-term water solution that will allow the clinic to serve families safely and sustainably for years to come.
