That place is SET The Bar, Omaha's new sports bar and restaurant with a unique and powerful mission: to support and elevate women’s sports.

Our values of inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration guide our mission to build a community around shared passions through food and drink. At its core, SET will serve high-quality food and drinks while showcasing women’s sports, but this is just the beginning. It’s a place where everyone is welcome, and fans of women’s sports can come together to connect in intentional and meaningful ways.

We aim to uplift female athletes locally and globally, celebrate the momentum and innovation in women’s sports, and spotlight issues of equity and equality—both in person and through social media. SET will connect with the local community, inviting them to be a part of this mission in meaningful ways, positively impacting Omaha and the world of women’s sports.

Our Why:

The momentum for women’s sports is undeniable. As Billie Jean King once said, "Champions keep playing until they get it right." At SET The Bar, we’re committed to getting it right by creating a space where female athletes are celebrated, their achievements are amplified, and their stories are told.

We are proud to join a growing movement championed by pioneers like The Sports Bra, Rough and Tumble Pub, A Bar of Their Own, Watch Me!, and others. We aspire to be the seventh establishment in the nation dedicated to this cause and can't wait to see more follow! Our dream is for fans of women’s sports to find a welcoming place to watch the game wherever their travels take them.

Our team has a deep personal connection to this mission. We are former athletes, lifelong fans, and have been champions of women’s sports our entire lives. For one of our owners Molly Huyck, the drive goes even deeper. Molly’s youngest sister, Kelsey, who was her biggest fan, passed away unexpectedly in April 2022 at age 35. “She was my inspiration… She loved, loved women’s sports, and I’m doing this in memory of her. Because of Kelsey, we want to make the place family-friendly. I want to make sure kids have a space and are comfortable there… I think Kelsey would be proud.”

Our name, SET The Bar, is more than a nod to one of Nebraska’s favorite sports or a clever reference to the bar and restaurant industry. While we aim to be a fun and welcoming place to cheer on your favorite team, our greater hope is to elevate the conversation around women's sports, support women athletes, and advance gender equity. We’re committed to setting the bar high in everything we do.

What We’re Building Together:

At SET The Bar, we’re building more than just a sports bar; we’re creating a community hub. Our goal is to bring together fans, athletes, and supporters of women’s sports to connect in meaningful ways. Your donation will help us:

Create a Platform for Local Female Athletes: Support us in showcasing games, hosting events, and providing a space for athletes to share their journeys and inspire others.
Promote Equity and Inclusivity: Help us drive conversations around equity and equality in sports, ensuring every fan and athlete feels welcome and valued.
