The Share a Share Food Access Program at Transplanting Traditions Community Farm enables refugee farmers to grow food specifically for local food access organizations to distribute to the local community.

While these organizations are sometimes able to make some contributions to the costs of purchasing this produce, Transplanting Traditions fundraises to cover the remaining costs to ensure farmers are paid fairly for the produce they grow! At the same time, Transplanting Traditions staff offer guidance, coordination, and training to the beginning and intermediate farmers participating in the program.

Transplanting Traditions farmers have particular expertise in growing and contributing food that is culturally familiar for many communities and can be difficult to find in many food banks such as ginger, chilies, or lemongrass.

This growing season, we have the opportunity to expand Share a Share by partnering with additional food access organizations, allowing us to provide more fresh, healthy food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We also now have the opportunity to develop this program into a year-round initiative.

With your support, we hope to meet our goal of $10,000 to expand the Share a Share Program and develop the program to a year-round initiative. This fundraiser will be ongoing until the official last day of summer: September 22nd. 🌞
