What started as a God-given passion is now becoming a permanent place where lives will be changed forever. Shekinah Dance Company was founded in January 2020 by visionary Shekinah Walton. What began as a God-given passion has grown into a movement dedicated to empowering children, teens, and adults to boldly express themselves through the powerful art of dance created by God.

We specialize in liturgical, interpretive, hip-hop/urban movement, and African dance, while seamlessly incorporating elements of ballet, modern, and jazz to create a dynamic and transformative experience. By the grace of God, our reach has extended far beyond state lines, welcoming students from across the nation and around the world.

Our mission goes beyond movement. We exist to inspire, uplift, and transform lives through dance, all for the glory of God. Our motto says it best: “My Dance. His Glory.”

For many years, it has been our prayer and goal to establish a physical home for Shekinah Dance Company. Today, we are stepping into that vision. We are preparing to build out our very own location in the beautiful city of Gary, Indiana, inside Faith Community Center–North, a space where creativity, faith, excellence, and community can flourish under one roof. Your generous donation will directly support the construction and development of our dance studio, including electrical and HVAC installation, interior design and finishing, barres, flooring, mirrors, sound equipment, and other essential studio needs. Every contribution helps bring us one step closer to creating a safe, inspiring, and purpose-filled environment where dancers can grow, worship, learn, and we can continue to impact lives through the art of dance.
