A little about us...

Sierra Leone is a beautiful country; home of some of the worlds most beautiful beaches, rainforests and the kindest, most loving people.

Despite the billions of dollars of diamonds that have been mined in Sierra Leone, the average 23 year old has just 3 years of education...More children die before the age of 5 years old than anywhere else in the world. One out of every three children dying before the age of 5 years. High mortality rates are caused by pervasive challenges including poverty, a lack of clean water and sanitation, poor nutrition, and limited access to quality health services to address malaria and diarrhoea disease which cause the highest amount of deaths in children.

In response to this, Shine On Sierra Leone opened the doors of Muddy Lotus Primary School 19 years ago to holistically support the lives of children. Providing them with what we believe are human rights. Since then, thousands of students have walked through our doors and expanded their horizons receiving the treasures of EDUCATION, NOURISHMENT, AND HEALTHCARE.

Your $33 monthly donation provides one student with a PROGRESSIVE EDUCATION, a daily nutritious WHOLE HOT FOOD LUNCH and an ON-SITE HEALTH CLINIC to tend all of their health needs.
