Access to support is not always as simple as it should be.

For many people in Southern Oregon, navigating homelessness, shelters, and social services can be overwhelming, inconsistent, and at times, discouraging. Barriers that seem small on the surface can prevent someone from getting the help they need entirely.

This work is personal.

The founder of Octavia’s Options has firsthand experience navigating homelessness, shelters, and service systems, along with professional experience in harm reduction and community-based support. These experiences provided a clear understanding of both what works and what is missing.

What became evident is that many individuals are not unwilling to seek help. They are often navigating systems that are difficult to access, fragmented, or not designed with real-life circumstances in mind.

Octavia’s Options was founded in 2023 in response to that gap.

As a low-barrier, community-based resource initiative, the focus is on making support more accessible, more consistent, and easier to navigate. This includes connecting individuals to essential resources, reducing barriers to entry, and building pathways toward stability using a Housing First approach.

The goal is simple.
Support should be within reach.

As funding shifts and service gaps continue to grow, the need for community-driven solutions is increasing. Small organizations are often the ones stepping in to meet immediate, local needs, but they rely heavily on community support to do so. Donations have been used to provide supplies and help make rent payments for local community members that needed it.

Every donation helps:
• Keep resources accessible
• Expand outreach and connections
• Support program development
• Build toward long-term solutions like the Community Resource Hub

This is not just about programs.
It is about making sure people do not fall through the cracks.
