Our neighborhoods hold important narratives. These stories shape who we are and help to uncover where we have been. They also help young readers make powerful text connections between the page and their local environment. At Kifani Kids, we work with community organizations to engage early readers through place-based learning. That means we're on the ground -- getting books into the community and telling our community's stories. We need your help to move this work forward. Collectively, we can help ensure every student has access to high-quality books and the literacy resources they need to succeed at a local, grassroots level. This campaign begins on 8/28/2006, a national day that celebrates black-led nonprofits, and ends on December 31, 2026.
