AN HONOR EARNED

Meyerland Performing and Visual Arts Middle School’s Sinfonia Orchestra has been selected to perform at The Midwest Clinic - International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago this December.

MPVA is one of only three middle school orchestras invited to perform this year—and the only Houston ISD performing group selected to attend in the conference’s 80-year history.

THE NEXT GENERATION

The students and their director have worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity. Their selection is a testament to their dedication to their musical craft.

A GLOBAL GATHERING

The Midwest Clinic’s mission is to be the premier global gathering for instrumental music educators, musicians and industry professionals to gain knowledge, skills and relationships that resonate across cultures and generations.

WHY SUPPORT IS NEEDED

Transporting a performing group more than 1,000 miles from Houston to Chicago requires airfare, lodging, large-instrument rental and other trip expenses—while public-school arts programs face reductions and cuts.
