Slant’d is a nonprofit independent publishing house and creative home for AAPIs, nurturing self-discovery, creative expansion, and meaningful connection. By publishing diverse, multifaceted, authentic stories and offering arts and culture programs that empower through community, Slant’d makes publishing more accessible and reshapes the public narrative of what it means to be Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI).

Since our founding in 2017, we’ve empowered 150+ AAPI writers and artists to find their voice and a greater sense of belonging with the greater AAPI community, engaged 1,000+ AAPIs across the US through a range of in-person and virtual events, and partnered with 140+ brands and organizations.

In 2023, Slant’d received 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation and began its journey to evolve from a "humble zine" into the creative home that AAPIs want, need, and deserve. After a 2-year organizational pause, we are actively laying the foundation to expand into book publishing, launch our first arts & culture programs, and more.

How will the funds be used?

Slant'd is 100% volunteer-run. All money that we generate goes directly back into our nonprofit to cover our expenses, from tech/admin to team/writer/artist stipends.

Every dollar raised will go towards making unlocking the financial sustainability we need to make these ambitions a reality. Authentic representation empowers AAPI individuals and communities to shape their own narrative and invites others to do the same.
