Join us for our first in-person fundraiser: an intimate evening in Brooklyn celebrating the stories and the storytellers that make Slant'd what it is. Whether you've been part of the Slant'd community for years, or you're just joining us for the first time, we're so glad you're here.

You'll meet Slant'd alumni—writers and artists who've been part of our magazine and creative programs—as they share a behind-the-scenes look at their work. It's a chance to get exclusive access at parts of their stories that hit the cutting room floor and hear directly from them on how their creative journeys have evolved since working with Slant'd. It's a rare, up-close look at the storytelling process, and at the impact your support makes possible.

AAPI voices remain deeply underrepresented in publishing: only 7% of published authors identify as AAPI, despite being one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. Slant'd exists to change that: we're an independent publishing house and creative home built by and for AAPIs, where undiscovered writers and artists don't need an MFA or an agent to get their stories told.

This is also our chance to raise funds to keep this work going: our publications (an annual literary magazine and our new book publishing program) and creative programs like Blank Page Revival and Beyond the Page, all built to create a regenerative ecosystem that gives AAPI writers and artists access to mentorship, publishing opportunities, and a creative home.

Hosted by our Board of Directors, the evening will include food, drinks, a special raffle (featuring an advance signed copy of Slant'd's first-ever children's book Soup Dumplings Don't Eat Cheese by Lynn Chen and other exciting items), and a chance to connect with others who believe in the power of inclusive storytelling and independent publishing.
