SLIFF 2024 wasn’t just a festival — it was the first time many Deaf filmmakers experienced an entertainment industry event built for them.

Before SLIFF, many Deaf directors, writers, producers, crew, and Deaf-owned production companies didn’t even know one another existed. Among peers who shared their culture, understood their struggles, and reflected their own creative aspirations, they felt empowered. Over 5 days of networking with entertainment industry guests and the screening of 91 films, it was clear something revolutionary was brewing.

SLIFF is now recognized as the place where Hollywood meets Deaf creative excellence.

SLIFF 2026 IS SET TO SOAR

April 14-18 @ The Culver Theater, Culver City, CA

In addition to screenings and industry panels, SLIFF is honored to host the first International Deaf Producers Summit — a series of working sessions with Deaf directors, writers, producers, and Deaf-owned production companies. Together, we will formalize our strategies for sourcing and developing content, funding co-productions, expanding film distribution, and establishing a global Deaf talent pipeline to serve studios, streamers, and independent film companies.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Fifty Deaf filmmakers attended SLIFF 2024. We need those 50 back — and more.

Many Deaf filmmakers across the U.S., and especially those in Europe, Asia, and South America cannot afford to attend without financial support. Your donation of any size will help cover the travel and lodging costs of filmmakers eager to advance their careers at SLIFF.

It costs around $1500 -$2500 for a filmmaker to attend the festival.

Our preliminary goal is to raise $25,000 by December 31st.

Stretch Goal: $50,000

Together, we can increase opportunity for Deaf creatives and crew, broadening inclusion to embrace both the storytellers and the audiences they inspire.
